CEDAR FALLS — Terry L. Kroese, 53, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Feb. 8, at his home of natural causes.

He was born June 9, 1953, in Sheldon, son of Arnold and Rita Bleasdell Kroese. He married Martha Ratcliff Nov. 1, 1986, in Janesville.

He received his B.A., M.A. and administrative certificate from the University of Northern Iowa. He taught at Lytton for two years, Boyden for a year and at many buildings for the Waterloo School District for 29 years, most recently as assistant principal at West High School and as district instrumental music facilitator.

He was also organist and director of music at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, for 28 years and played with Bill Shepherd and with other local bands. He was a member of the Iowa Bandmasters Association, the American Guild of Organists, the Elks Club, School Administrators of Iowa as well as other professional organizations, and was the adjudicator of Iowa High School Music Association.

Survived by: his wife; his parents, Arnold and Rita Kroese of Sheldon; and a brother, Ronald of Omaha, Neb.

Preceded in death by: his grandparents.
